Subject Operational data for frontier AI
Origin Lagos · San Francisco · Toronto

Meridian licenses the operational record of real companies — the messages, the tickets, the codebases — to the labs building the next decade of intelligence.

§I The Thesis

Public text taught machines to read. Operational data will teach them to work.

For two decades, we taught machines to read. They learned grammar from encyclopaedias, code from public repositories, taste from forums.

Then we asked them to reason. Public text stopped being enough. Models hit a ceiling against problems no encyclopaedia had solved before.

Now we are asking them to work — to plan, to coordinate, to ship, to follow up six weeks later. And the data that would teach them is locked inside the day-to-day operations of real companies.

That is the data Meridian licenses. Not the internet's reflection of work. The work itself.

§II Principles

Three convictions that govern everything we license.

i. Conviction One

Frontier models will plateau without operational data.

Public text is exhausted as a frontier. The next leap doesn't come from another trillion tokens of HTML — it comes from learning how a Series B founder rewrites a brief at 2am, how an engineering lead unblocks a stuck PR, how three teams coordinate a launch across six tools.

ii. Conviction Two

Companies sit on archives, not assets.

Most operating data depreciates the moment it's written. Meridian gives it a second life — as licensed training material, with the company compensated and the privacy of every individual preserved.

iii. Conviction Three

Privacy is the product, not the obstacle.

Every record is anonymised before it leaves the company. Names, emails, identifiers, secrets — stripped at source by tooling we own. Labs never see who. They only see how.

§III Mechanism

A clean handoff between companies, Meridian, and labs.

01
Anonymise
at source
Connectors run inside your environment.
Identifiers, secrets and personal data are stripped before anything is exported. The clear-text record never leaves your perimeter.
02
License
through Meridian
Three agreements. Two AmLaw firms.
A Data Processing Addendum, a Data License, and a Services Agreement — reviewed by Blank Rome and Foley & Lardner. You retain ownership.
03
Deliver
to frontier labs
Curated, anonymised, training-ready.
Frontier labs receive a versioned, structured dataset. You receive recurring licensing revenue and milestone-linked upside as models ship.
Track A · Founders

Turn your operational archive into recurring revenue.

If your company is three years or older and generates real day-to-day work across messaging, project, and engineering tools — the program may be a fit.

  • Anonymisation tooling deployed inside your environment
  • Recurring license revenue, not a one-time data sale
  • Full visibility into which labs receive what
  • Right of refusal on any buyer at any time
Track B · Investors

A new asset class at the seam between portfolio and frontier.

Operational data is the highest-yield, lowest-correlation asset your portfolio companies already produce. Meridian operationalises it without disturbing the cap table.

  • Portfolio-wide introductions and structured onboarding
  • Quarterly reporting on licensed assets and revenue
  • Co-development of training milestones with labs
  • Early access to data-driven model insights
